フィリピンの新聞に載ったという”Fujii Kaze”のインタビューを読んで、私の以前からの想いが再度浮上してきた。
それは、ここにも書いた「藤井風、シャーマン説」。
彼は、単に美しい音楽が好きだと言っている。
メロディとハーモニーとリズム、三大要素が奏でる美しい音楽が好きで、それを再現したいといつも思っている、と。
つまり、カバー曲のパフォーマンスでは、曲を作った人のスピリチャリティが、彼を通して表現される。
いつの時代のどんな暮らしをしている人か、古今東西の老若男女の精神性を再現することになるんだから、聴く者にとっては、乗り移ったかのように感じるわけだ。
だから、オリジナル曲は、アレンジも含めて全て彼自身であるにちがいない。
新しい曲を創り出すのは、まさに身を削る過程だろう。
こんなに幅が広いのに確固たる個性って何？
I read an interview with Fujii Kaze that was in a Philippine newspaper, and a thought I had from before resurfaced.
It was the "Fujii Kaze Shaman Theory" that I also wrote about here.
He said that he simply likes beautiful music.
He loves beautiful music that combines the three elements of melody, harmony, and rhythm, and he always wants to recreate it.
In other words, when he performs cover songs, the spirituality of the composer is expressed through him.
He recreates the spirituality of people of all ages, from all over the world, past and present, regardless of what era they lived, so the listener feels as if he has been possessed by them.
Therefore, all of his original songs, including the arrangements, must be himself.
Creating new songs must be a truly exhausting process.
What is it about having such a wide range of styles yet such a strong individuality?
