ドジャーズ大谷翔平さんと通訳だった水原一平さんの件は、衝撃だった。
人を信頼するということの意味を問われたような気がする。
大谷さんがベンチで一人あたふたしたり、タブレットでデータ検索してるらしいところを垣間見ると、今までどんなに一平さんを頼りにしてきたかが分かる。
どんなに信頼し合ってると思っていても、その信頼に対して、最後は自分自身で責任を負うことになるんだな。
彼と決別して、本来の仕事に打ち込もうとしている姿に、胸が詰まった。
こんな時、大谷さんを支える伴侶がいることを、本当に良かったと思う。
大谷さんの新妻、真美子さんの元対戦相手、馬瓜エブリンさんが、真美子さんについて語っていた言葉が印象に残っている。
「本当に優しいし、ちゃんとプレーでも自分の役割っていうのをしっかりとプレーする選手」、
「逆に大谷選手がラッキーな人だったという風には思いますね」
藤井風さんにも、そういう人がいるといいな。

When I caught a glimpse of Otani being busy with preparetions or searching for data on his tablet alone on the bench, I can see how much he had relied on Ippei.
No matter how much we think we trust each other, we will ultimately be responsible for that trust.
It was heartbreaking for me to see him break up with Ippei and focus on his real job.
I'm really glad that Otani had a partner to support him at times like this.

"She's really kind, and even though she plays well, she's a player who plays her role well."
“On the contrary, I think Otani was the lucky one.”
I hope Fujii Kaze has someone like that too.
