お母さんの友人が、ロマネスコを持ってきてくれた。
ご当人曰く、「何て言うだか名前も忘れちゃっただけど、食べきれないもんだから～」
ということだったが、私は一目見るなり、ロマネスコじゃありませんか、とガッツポーズした。
風さんがブロッコリーを自分で調理してよく食べる、というのを聞いてから、なおさら私はこの手の野菜を好んで食べている。
それにしても、このロマネスコ、海賊が洞窟に隠した宝の箱に入っていてもおかしくない豪華な見た目だ。
しかし、この見た目はいつも私に、別のあるものを連想させる。
怪獣だ。
ゴジラかガメラかポケモンだと思うんだけど、いかつい背中の形状を思い出させるのだ。
ずっずさんがペットのカメにデモゴルゴンと名付けた感覚と、なんとなく似たものだと思う。

My mom's friend brought us a Romanesco.
She said, "I forgot the name, but I couldn't eat it all."
However, as soon as I saw it, I pumped my fists and thought, "Isn't it Romanesco?"
Ever since I heard that KAZE often cooks and eats broccoli himself, I've been liking this type of vegetable even more.
Anyway, this Romanesco looks so luxurious that it would look like it belonged in a treasure chest hidden in a cave by a pirate.
But this look always reminds me of something else.
It's a monster.
I think it's Godzilla, Gamera, or Pokemon, but it reminds me of the shape of their ugly backs.
I think it's somehow similar to how Zuzu named his pet turtle Demogorgon.
